To the Readers:

This book, iScience 1: K to 12 Curriculum Series, is published
under iBook Publishing, Inc. It comes into the Kinder to Grade 10 series

following the competencies of the K to 12 Program prescribed by the
Department of Education. The features built in this book will help every

learner acquire the important skills and concepts they need. Each
topic is thoroughly discussed in a learner-centered and inquiry-based

approach for better understanding. After every lesson, activities will
assess how the pupils understood the topic.

Through this book and the support of the teachers and parents,
we hope that learning Science will be exciting, enjoyable, and

effective.

Authors

Lovely Rollaine B. Cruz is a graduate of
Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in

General Science from the Rizal Technological
University. She was an instructor and teacher-
trainer at the Edujoon Academy, where she

teaches Business English and Advanced Science

for Elementary and High School. Lovely Rollaine B. Cruz has an MA
in Educational Management from the Philippine Normal University
and a Communicative Language Teaching certificate. She is

currently teaching English and Science at Pinagbuhatan Elementary
School. Her research areas include student achievement and the

development of strategies using educational technology materials.
She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Management at

Marikina Polytechnic College.
